The Brig is the former Lee Brigg Working Men’s Club, the main part of which was built in 1911. Over the year’s, the building has seen a number of extensions and changes which have resulted in an interesting layout!!!
The Function Room has a solid oak floor and a stage area, with it’s own male and female toilet facilities and also has direct access to the garden area. The room is fully accessible and is also served by a disabled toilet and a baby-changing facility.
The Function Room is ideal for dance and fitness groups and the room also accommodates over 100 guests seated at tables or in a theatre style and provides a comfortable venue for private parties, concerts, weddings, christenings, conferences and large meetings. There are full HD projection facilities and a large screen available with sound surround and access to live Sky and BT Sports HD TV including all major sporting events.
The carpeted lounge area has its own bar, with pushchair and wheelchair friendly direct access to the garden area and both male and female toilet facilities (both of which will be fully refurbished in the summer of 2019). All of the seating in the lounge has recently been replaced. The picture below shows the lounge ready for a Baby Shower.
This is an ideal venue for smaller functions, training courses and meetings. There are full HD projection facilities and a large screen with sound surround and access to live Sky and BT Sports HD TV including all major sporting events. The room also hosts our kitchen area which can also be hired along with the room.
The Members’ bar area has recently been re-furnished and is fully carpeted. There is a pool and snooker table and live Sky and BT Sports HD TV, projector and screen showing all major sporting events. This room has its own male and female toilets.
There is a fully compliant disabled ramp to the front of the building along with two dedicated disabled parking spaces. A carpeted foyer hosts a disabled toilet and baby-changing facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. All rooms and main doors are covered by CCTV. Payment by card is now accepted over the bar (no cash back facility).
To the rear of the building there are two raised furnished patio areas which are ideal for BBQs.
There is also a garden area of over half an acre in size which is currently undergoing a full remodelling, due to be completed during 2019, which will include a young children’s play area. A flood-lit private car park can accommodate twenty cars and there is an overflow parking area accessed from the main car park for larger events.
